Animals In Therapy
Animals have been accepted into our homes as family members for quite some time. Animals can help reduce symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression simply by being a part of our life. Dogs for example can make someone smile simply by wagging their tail or greeting us at the door after a tough day. They are always happy to see us. They also motivate us to get moving and get outside. Simply spending time in the moment with our pet’s unconditional acceptance and love can have a positive impact on our mood.
Benefits of Therapy Pets
In therapy, just like in our home, the presence of an animal can assist in the therapeutic process by helping to create a calm, safe place to work through challenges that are impacting quality of life. We are lucky to have our very own therapy dog, Kaci here at Rising Tides Healing Centre who is always ready to greet our clients with a smile and a wagging tail.
Meet Kaci, Therapy Dog
Kaci is a 2-year-old Golden Retriever who loves life and is happy to be outside exploring or inside relaxing with people. Kaci is calm, natured, affectionate and loves people of all ages. She is very social and loves to say hello to anyone coming her way.
Kaci is known for her gentle and loving approach when helping children and adults feel more comfortable while working towards individual therapy goals. Kaci is very patient, loving and enjoys being available to those who require her help to move beyond barriers that are preventing positive change and growth in life. Please feel free to give her a pet and say hello if you see her around the clinic.
