Meet Caitlin Isles

Student Counsellor

I am a Student Counsellor completing my Master’s of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I focus on building strong therapeutic relationships in which my clients feel safe exploring difficult topics in support of self-discovery and their definition of mental wellbeing.

I am a certified nutritional practitioner (2013) and a yoga teacher (2014), which has deepened my awareness of the importance of a holistic view of mental and physical health. My approach to counselling is based on the belief that my clients have an innate wisdom and understanding that can help guide them on their path to balance and healing. Self-compassion, empathy, empowerment, and understanding have underpinned my coaching work for over a decade and I look forward to using these skills in a therapeutic environment.

My therapeutic style is grounded in a Humanist approach coupled with various modalities including Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), amongst others. I tailor my approach based on my client’s unique needs and intentions for treatment. I work with clients 16 and older on a variety of mental health concerns and offer both in-person or virtual sessions.

In my spare time you’ll find me at the yoga studio, going to trivia with friends, walking in the woods, buried in a book, dancing to live music, snuggling with my kitties, or testing out new recipes.
