EMDR Consultation

Lori McIsaac Bewsher

Social Worker Lori McIsaac Bewsher

Lori McIsaac Bewsher offers individual and group EMDR consultation for therapists who have already completed Basic Training. Therapists must receive a minimum of 20 hours of consultation as part of the requirements to become an EMDRIA-approved Certified Therapist.

Consultation is also helpful for therapists who want to improve their understanding and application of EMDR in their clinical practice. Working with an EMDR Consultant provides you with a solid understanding of the standard protocol which can lead to both improved confidence and treatment outcomes in therapy sessions. EMDR Consultants must participate in ongoing continuing education and can direct you towards specialized protocols, research and training opportunities in your clinical focus areas.

Lori is an EMDRIA-approved Consultant and can provide EMDR consultation across Canada. Services can be offered virtually or in-person. Lori works mostly with adults and has experience working with first responders, veterans, injured workers and clients who have been diagnosed with PTSD or complex trauma. Lori’s background also includes advanced training in attachment-focused EMDR, dissociation and recent event protocols. Lori is trained in structural dissociation and Internal Family Systems approaches which can be integrated into preparing clients for EMDR therapy.
