Meet Heather Barton

Licensed Counselling Therapist (C)

I have had the privilege to work as a Registered Nurse with a strong clinical focus on mental health. I have supported clients experiencing traumatic life events and witnessed their courage and perseverance towards their wellness.
My career and personal experiences inspired me to return to school and obtain a Master’s in Counselling and Psychology (MACP). I am passionate about helping clients process their experiences and be able to live a purposeful, meaningful life. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters personal growth and development. I draw from client’s strengths to support them toward their goals.
I use a trauma-informed lens and a client-centred approach. I pull from various theoretical modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy (NT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I work with individuals 16+ who are experiencing a wide variety of mental health challenges. I am available for in-person, video and telephone sessions.
