“The essence of trauma is disconnection from the self. Healing is reconnection.” – Gabor Mate.
About Me:
I’m a trauma therapist passionate about helping people process the impact of painful past experiences to be able to live more fully in the present. I draw from a blend of EMDR, ART, and IFS practices to create a healing plan that feels right for you. My approach is collaborative, responsive, and grounded in the belief that change is always possible, even if it doesn’t always feel that way.
Quick Facts:
Specialities: Trauma and its effects — including emotional dysregulation, anxiety, chronic stress, boundary challenges, and low self-worth. I work especially with clients navigating the long-term impact of early emotional neglect and attachment wounds.
Therapies Used: EMDR, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), IFS (Internal Family Systems), CBT
Clients I Work With: Adults (18+) who are living with the effects of trauma, which may have occurred in childhood, relationships, workplace stress, or critical incidents. I support clients, including veterans, first responders, injured workers, and others who may not identify with a specific trauma, but know something feels “off” or unresolved.
Location: In-person (Saint John) or virtual across NB
Availability: I’m currently not accepting new therapy clients.
Languages: English
Credentials & Training:
- Master of Social Work(MSW), Dalhousie University
- Certified EMDR Therapist & EMDRIA-Approved Consultant
- Accelerated Resolution Therapy (Basic Training)
- Certificate in Applied Internal Family Systems, Adler College
Why Clients Work With Me:
Many of my clients have been to therapy before and they’ve learned helpful tools and insights, but still feel stuck in patterns they can’t quite shift. That’s where trauma-focused, body-based work can make all the difference. I help clients access and release trauma stored in their bodies, understand their experiences with more compassion, and find a path forward that actually feels like healing.
Things I like to do in my spare time:
You can often find me walking my dog Cupid, hiking local trails, sailing on the St. John River, or learning to play hockey (with enthusiasm, not skill!). I also play trumpet in a Second Chance band and love cooking up delicious meals to enjoy with my family.
Lori is not accepting new clients or keeping a waiting list at this time.
