Social Worker Nancy Savoie

Meet Nancy Savoie

BSW, MSW, RSW

Registered Social Worker, Saint John, NB

Pronouns: She/Her

I am a registered social worker with a Master’s degree in Social Work and have been working as a clinician since 2015. I love exploring a person’s experience with them to try and make sense of the spiderweb that is our emotions and perceptions of the world around us and our place in it.

I have experience working with addictions, navigating the criminal justice system, trauma, interpersonal relations and communication skills, OCD, anxiety, depression, stress-reduction and burn out.

My interests are broad but my own transition to motherhood deepened my passion for perinatal and postpartum mental health and gave me a personal understanding of the many emotional, relational, and identity changes that can accompany becoming a parent.

I am Certified in Maternal Mental Health and have also completed training in CBT Essentials within Perinatal Mental Health. I support mothers, fathers, and partners navigating pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, anxiety, low mood, changing roles, relationship strain, and the transition to life with a baby.

Using a delicate balance of humour, personal experience, education, patience and empathy, I attempt to approach all alliances with clients with an open and hopeful mind. I tend to use multiple therapeutic approaches, taking bits and pieces of each to help create an individualized care plan that works for my client in the moment. I am also trained in EMDR therapy.

I am more consistent than attempting to cure yourself using TikTok, and much more interactive than a self-help book.

In my spare time my partner and I run a small homestead; we have way too many dogs; and when I have a moment between toddlers, dogs, and various birds, I binge watch trash TV when I should be napping.
