Pronouns: she/her

About Me:

If you feel like you’re stuck in the past, overwhelmed by emotions you don’t understand or have trouble navigating stressors, my door is open to you. In our space, you’ll have the opportunity to gain insight, tackle challenges, develop coping skills and focus on trauma recovery. No matter how you arrive, I will hold space for you as you navigate grief, anger, shame or guilt without judgement.

Therapy can be an uncomfortable process, but I bring my authenticity into the room so it feels less clinical. With my bubbly personality, I love to laugh at your jokes, celebrate your wins, and connect over shared interests. At the same time, I strive to create a grounded space so that you feel safe enough to connect with overwhelming emotions.

Throughout my journey of becoming a therapist, I’ve had the opportunity to support people in a variety of settings. I was a crisis intervener at a transitional shelter supporting those experiencing domestic violence, worked in group homes, and volunteered with the Sophia Recovery Centre. These experiences strengthened my belief that people have an incredible capacity for survival. Many behaviors that we label “unhelpful” or “shameful”, such as addiction, avoidance, people-pleasing or freeze responses are survival strategies that were developed to cope with painful experiences.

In therapy, we can gently explore these patterns with compassion and work toward forging a life that aligns with your values.

Why Clients Like To Work With Me:

My clients often share that they look forward to our sessions because, with my cheerful demeanor, they don’t experience an overly clinical or robotic approach to therapy. Instead, they see a human being that genuinely wants to know about the things that bring them joy. Whether it’s a special hobby or favourite book, I want to know. This warmth allows clients to express feelings, thoughts, and memories they normally keep buried.

Many of my clients also appreciate  that I help them reconnect with their bodies and foster self-compassion. Rather than seeing emotions such as grief or anxiety as something to fear, they learn to trust in their ability to cope when they’re struggling.

Things I Like To Do in My Spare Time:

When I’m not in the office, you can usually find me on a dance floor, stumbling through hiking trails, reading thrillers, or binge watching reality TV! (Love is Blind, anyone?)
