By accessing our website, purchasing services, enrolling in courses, or participating in any offerings provided by Rising Tides, you agree to be bound by the following Terms of Service. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree with these terms, please discontinue use of our website and services.
- Scope of Services
Rising Tides provides:
- Mental health counselling & psychotherapy services
- Trauma-focused training, workshops, consultation groups & educational programs
- Digital courses, memberships & online learning environments
- General wellness resources, blog content & email distribution
Our services are offered to clients and participants located in Canada unless otherwise specified.
- Not Medical or Emergency Advice
While our services may support mental health and well-being, online and educational offerings are not a substitute for individualized therapy, diagnosis, crisis intervention or medical treatment.
If you are experiencing an emergency or crisis, call 911 or contact your local emergency response line.
- Client Responsibilities
By using our services, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information when booking, purchasing or communicating with us
- Use our website and materials for lawful purposes only
- Refrain from sharing, copying, distributing or reselling our intellectual property
- Attend scheduled sessions on time and in the manner agreed upon
Failure to comply with these expectations may result in suspension of services or removal from programs without refund.
- Payment & Billing
Payment for counselling, consultation groups, workshops, and digital courses is required at the time of booking or registration unless otherwise arranged.
We accept:
- Private payment
- Direct billing (when available through your insurance plan)
- Online payment via Stripe, processed securely through encrypted channels
Insurance coverage is not guaranteed and clients are responsible for understanding their benefits.
- Refund Policy
Due to the digital nature of our online courses, memberships, and electronic materials, all digital course sales are final and non-refundable.
Refunds for workshops, consultation groups, or clinical services are issued only according to the cancellation terms outlined at purchase or by therapist discretion.
- Use of Third-Party Platforms
We use external services to deliver aspects of our business. These may include, but are not limited to:
- OWL Practice — booking + calendar management
- Go High Level (GHL) — course hosting, email distribution, marketing automations
- Stripe — secure online payments
- Google Workspace — business email & storage (not containing client health records)
By using our services, you consent to the secure processing of information by these providers in accordance with their respective privacy policies.
- Intellectual Property
All content, including course materials, slides, worksheets, website text, images, and resources are the exclusive property of Rising Tides Counselling Inc.
You may not:
- Copy, reproduce, distribute, sell, or modify any course or therapy material
- Share your login or membership access with others
Violation may result in removal from programs and legal remedy.
- Cancellation, Rescheduling & No-Shows
Counselling and clinical sessions are subject to our cancellation policy as outlined at the time of booking in OWL.
Missed sessions, late cancellations, or failure to attend may result in full session fees being charged.
Workshop or consultation group cancellation policies will be stated clearly at time of registration.
- Limitation of Liability
Rising Tides is not responsible for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use our website or services.
Participation in consultation groups, courses or clinical services is voluntary and at your own risk.
- Modification of Terms
We reserve the right to update or change these Terms of Service at any time. Updates will be reflected on this page with a revised date. Continued use of our services indicates acceptance of those changes.
- Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Province of New Brunswick, Canada. Any disputes shall be resolved within this jurisdiction.
